Drawings a workshop can build from.
A fabrication drawing should give the workshop everything it needs to make the part. We model in 3D, tolerance to the standard, check the design can actually be welded, folded or machined, and issue drawings under revision control.
Because we fabricate as well as draw, and supply machined and printed parts, we know what a workshop needs from a drawing. They go to our workshop, to yours, or to any shop you choose.
What we deliver.
3D models
Parametric solid models you own outright, delivered as STEP or in your native format. Assemblies with mates and part numbers, not loose bodies.

General arrangement and detail drawings to BS 8888, with weld symbols, tolerances and material specifications a shop can work from.
Hull · UK-wideFlat patterns
DXF flat patterns with bend allowances calculated for the material and tooling, ready for the laser and the press brake.
Hull · UK-wideBills of materials
Cut lists and BOMs with section sizes, lengths, quantities and finish, so the material order is correct.
Hull · UK-wideDesign for manufacture
We review your existing design for weld access, bend sequence, tolerance stack and cost before anything is cut.

CAD & drawings questions
Not covered here? Call or WhatsApp and ask.
Do you draw to BS 8888?
Yes. General tolerances to ISO 2768 unless the drawing says otherwise. If your company has its own drawing standard or title block, we work to that instead.
Can you turn a sketch or an old drawing into CAD?
Yes. Send a photograph of the sketch or a scan of the drawing with the key dimensions. We model it, query anything that does not add up, and issue a proper drawing.
Which file formats do you deliver?
STEP and DXF as standard. Native SolidWorks, IGES, Parasolid, DWG and PDF on request. You own the files.
Will you also make the part?
If you want us to. We fabricate and print, and supply machined parts, so the drawing is made with the build in mind. The drawings work just as well if you take them to another shop.
How is CAD work priced?
Hourly for open-ended design, fixed price for a defined drawing package. Either way the price is agreed in writing before work starts.
Can you check a design we have already done?
Yes. A design-for-manufacture review covers weld access, bend radii, hole-to-edge distances, tolerance stack and material choice. Changes cost less at the drawing stage than after cutting.
