HGV trailer repairs in Hull

Aluminium trailer bodies, sheet bows and wear plates, repaired on your yard.

01 · Overview

HGV trailer repairs on your yard

Aluminium trailer bodies crack where they flex: corner posts, top rails, door frames and where the sheet system bolts on. Left alone, a small split runs until the panel or the load goes. For HGV trailer repairs in Hull, we find the end of the crack, stop it and weld it with the right filler for the alloy, using our own power on your yard.

Sheet bows, wear plates, doors and walkways are repaired or manufactured to match. A fleet list is priced as one visit. We work around your schedule, including evenings and weekends where the site allows, at an extra cost.

How a job runs

  1. Send the listPhotos of each defect and the trailer fleet numbers. A walk-round defect sheet is fine.
  2. Priced per trailerFixed price per repair or a day rate for a list, agreed in writing before we attend.
  3. Repaired on the yardWelded, dressed and checked, with a short note per trailer of what was done.

Every crack is stopped at its end before it is welded.

A weld over a live crack only moves the problem. We trace it, stop-drill it and reinforce it where the body flexes.

06 · Questions

Fleet & HGV trailer repairs questions

Not covered here? Call or WhatsApp and ask.

Can a cracked aluminium trailer body be welded?

Usually, yes. The crack is found to its end, stop-drilled, cut out and welded with the right filler for the alloy. Where it keeps cracking, we add a doubler or brace.

Do you repair walking floor trailers?

Yes, the body: side panels, extrusions, bulkheads, wear plates, doors and the sub-frame. Floor slats, seals and the hydraulic drive unit are left to the floor manufacturer or their service agent.

Can you replace sheet bows on a roll-over sheet?

Yes. Damaged bows are replaced or manufactured to match the originals, and we repair the brackets so the sheet runs freely again.

Can you work through a list across the fleet?

Yes. Send the defects per trailer and we price the visit as a whole, so several trailers are done in one trip.

Can you work evenings or weekends?

Often, yes, depending on the site. We work around your fleet schedule while trailers are parked up. Out-of-hours work is charged at a higher rate, agreed in the price before we attend.

Is there a priority call-out for broken-down trailers?

Yes, for account customers on the emergency call-out. Rates are agreed when the account opens.
